Meet Don Frankenfeld

Credible

Expert credentials matter to juries and opposing counsel. Don Frankenfeld is a graduate of Yale, Harvard Business School, and the John F. Kennedy school of Government. In 1987, he was named a leadership fellow by the Bush Foundation, and his fellowship permitted him to further study law and economics at Harvard Law School. Don has also served on the Board of Directors of several business and civic organizations.

Convincing and Engaging

In addition to his three decades of testimonial experience, Don Frankenfeld is an accomplished public speaker and seminar leader. He speaks with warmth and enthusiasm and establishes a rapport with his audience. He is unflappable under pressure and responds with poise and precision to the most aggressively critical questions, both in the court room and in seminar settings.

Professional and Rigorous

Don Frankenfeld’s reports benefit from his years of analytical experience. They are built upon a solid statistical foundation. His conclusions are defensible because they are based on reality.

Skilled Use of Colorful Infographics

The right charts and graphs convey complex information quickly and clearly. Such graphics are easier to understand and more difficult to contest than textual assertions. Dramatic use of color also aids comprehension and sends a message of professionalism, depth, and expense–and improves chances for a favorable settlement or jury outcome.

Sensitive to Context

Typically, a Frankenfeld report provides both a single point estimate and a “sensitivity analysis” which allows the reader to examine how his/her own assumptions affect results. This facilitates settlement negotiations because it establishes a reasonable range of outcomes for both plaintiff and defense teams. Another crucial benefit to this approach is that it does not patronize a jury. Instead, it engages them in the analytical process in a way that feels right at a gut-check level.

Economical

A Frankenfeld initial report, which is often all that a case requires, usually costs $1,000 – $1,500. A comparable report from another top economist typically costs $2,500 or more; a CPA would typically charge $500 – $1,000.

Don has appeared in state and federal courts and has consulted with attorneys in New York, California, New Jersey, Texas, Iowa, South Dakota, Oregon, Colorado, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, Massachusetts, Georgia, Connecticut, Illinois, Montana, and Wyoming.

Don is known for the clarity of his presentations. In addition to his lively narrative, he displays his conclusions in a crisp, colorful, easy-to-understand graphical format.

Don devotes approximately 10% of his caseload to Pro Bono work.
